Kiev, one of the most beautiful historical capitals of Eastern Europe, is the ancient center of Slavic culture and the mother of all old Russian cities. Kiev is located on the shores of the Dinpro River with a population of over 3 million people. It is also the beautiful city of valuable historical - cultural monuments and great events. People here are very friendly. The art and architecture of Kiev are considered as world treasures. Many famous artists, poets and writers praised the unique beauty of this city.

 

The Golden Gate


The Golden gate is a historic gateway in the ancient city walls of Kiev. During the 18th century, it was used as the main entrance gate to Kiev city. In 1982 the gate was completely reconstructed to its original look.

Saint Andrew Church

Saint Andrew Church, one of four Ukrainian architectural landmarks on the list of World Treasures by the UNESCO World Heritage Site, is on a hill overlooking a park and Dnipro river. In 752 the church was constructed to ancient Russian architecture and design.

Saint Sophia’s Cathedral


Saint Sophia’s Cathedral is UNESCO World Heritage Site with magnificent mosaic architecture. Visitors can climb to the Bell Tower for city-view over Kiev. The cathedral is one of Ukraine\'s national treasures.

Kiev Pechersk Lavra Monastery


Kiev Pechersk Lavra Monastery, also known as Kiev Monastery Caves since its construction in 1051, is UNESCO World Heritage Site. Visitors can see the golden domed temples and old frescos preserved on the cave walls.

Museum of Historical Treasures


The museum exhibits one of the richest collections of historical jewellery dating hundreds of years like ancient gold and silver from the 14th century or Judaic ritual silver from the 18th century. Among the museum\'s treasures, it also exhibits the historical religious books engraved with pearls and sapphires and the whole burial of a Scythian queen with her child from Tolstaya Barrow.

Motherland Statue


The 108-meter-high and 530-ton-weight Motherland Statue has a shiny silver color. Inside the statue are lifts which take you to the top for views over Kiev and Dnipro river. The statue has two arms, one arm holding a 12-ton sword and the other holding a shield with a Russian symbol.

Vladimir Cathedral


Vladimir Cathedral, designed by masters from Venice, is one of the major landmarks of Kiev. It was completed in 1882 in honor of the grand prince of Kiev, Vladimir.
