Until now, a haunted house has stirred up deep scares among people, especially kids around the world regardless of any culture, religion and environment. It can not be denied that a haunted house stays in mind, even in sight at least once in everyone\'s life. Ghosts have wandered inside and outside such obsessed houses during the past decades, even centuries. It\'s so amazing that terrifying houses are often ancient and magnificent castles with terrible events. Below is the list of most famous haunted houses all over the world.

 


Edinburgh Castle, for a long time, has been considered to be one of the world\'s most famous destination attracting million visitors every year. Besides, it is well-known as among the most haunted places in Scotland with a phantom piper, a headless drummer, the souls of French prisoners from the Seven Years War and colonial prisoners from the American Revolutionary War.

There are lots of ghosts inside the house of the presidents of the United States over time. The spirit of President Harrison is said to stay around the White House. The spirits of President Andrew Jackson and First Lady Abigail Adams wandered on the White House hallways. In addition, President Lincoln is once stated to be watching Eleanor Roosevelt when she worked in the Lincoln bedroom.

The ship RMS Queen Mary, sailing to the North Atlantic Ocean from 1936 to 1967, was bought by the city of Long Beach, California in 1967 and taken into a hotel. The scariest area of the ship is the engine room featuring the ghost of a “lady in white.” This is the place where a 17-year-old sailor\'s body was broken into various pieces after trying to escape from a fire.

Waverly Hills Sanatorium, one of the most haunted hospitals in the eastern United States, is situated in Louisville, Kentucky. The hospital was first opened in 1910 seeing scary ghosts via the Sci Fi Channel’s Ghost Hunters. Here, there are lots of supernatural phenomena such as unknown voices, incredible shadows, and screams.

The Tower of London, also known as Royal Palace and Fortress is an ancient historic monument in the center of London, England, on the north bank of the River Thames. There is a rumor that the spirit of Ann Boleyn, among Henry VIII\'s wives, beheaded in the Tower in 1536 took her head to go around the castle.

Eastern State Penitentiary was designed by John Haviland and first opened in 1829 in the Eastern State, Philadelphia. This location was used as a form of rehabilitation featuring the first penitentiary in the world. On the occasion of a television show called “Most Haunted” on June 1, 2007, two members of the filming crew died here. It is said that the two people were killed due to spirits of dead prisoners.

Raynham Hall is a farm house built by David Bradford and Laurel Grove in Norfolk, England in 1976. There is a rumor that Raynham Hall was a house of 12 ghosts during 300 years. However, the haunt of William Winter was most well-known with famous ghost photos of the murdering scenes.

The house of Borley Rectory is said to be the most haunted one in Britain between the 1920s and 1930s. Until now, there have been lots of controversial and unexplainable phenomena after the death of a nun. The nun is told to have been trapped in the room until her death.
