Socotra in the Indian Ocean is considered the jewel of biodiversity in the Arabian Sea. Located on a island of Yemen, this wild and wonderful island has hundreds of animals and plants. Among them, more than one third is found nowhere else on the planet. One of its most unique plants is the dragon's blood tree, which is a strange-looking and umbrella-shaped tree. Socotra consists of three geographical terrains: the narrow coastal plains, a limestone plateau and the Haghier Mountains. In July 2008, Socotra was recognised by the UNESCO as a world natural heritage site. Let's discover Socotra's beauty through following pictures.
